Could be better
Packaging: very well done. Protection assured.
Assembly instructions: there aren't any, not even in English!
Assembly of the first set: perfect, no misalignment of the parts.
Assembly of the second set: the precision is lacking for the armrests. Very, very complicated to assemble. For one, we had to overtighten the fixing screws, one of which couldn't be fully tightened. This causes the armrest to move slightly, resulting in an annoying little "click" when it moves.
Wood: perfect, good finish, the edge doesn't catch your finger when you run it over it.
The padding foam: has the right resilience for us, as we have very standard builds: 50 and 78 kg - 1.64m and 1.70m.
We feel supported in all the right places. No need for a "support" cushion!
Finally, the leather: we were surprised. It's matte, with no slippage, and a silicone-like surface to the touch without transferring any material onto the fingers. There's no strong odor, the textured surface is grainy, and there are no flaws in this leather, if you can call them that, without resembling "puppet leather." I confess I can't quite put my finger on it. An answer awaits. The slightly disappointing aspect is this very matte finish... you don't glide on it at all.
The chair looks great, smells of genuine leather. Really nice.
I should have taken the XL version though, although I am not really tall. The back could go higher.
Very comfortable
Made the jump to get this as I've always wanted an Eames-like chair, I've had it for a few weeks now and it doesn't disappoint. I was mainly worried about
Leather quality and wood appearance, but the leather looks and feels good, the cushioning is plush but not sinking - it's firm, the wood quality looks great and the construction feels solid.
I put the chair together myself, it would definitely be easier with 2 people but it is more than possible,
Highly recommend getting the "Tall" version over the standard or XL. It's a great size.
I play guitar sitting in this chair and read but it’s not ideal
