Marcel Lajos Breuer was a modernist builder and furniture designer from Hungary. He was born on May 21, 1902, and died on July 1, 1981. At the Bauhaus, he made the Wassily Chair and the Cesca Chair "among the 10 most important chairs of the 20th century." 1] Breuer took the sculpture vocabulary he learned in the carpentry shop at the Bauhaus and turned it into his style of architecture. This made him one of the most famous architects in the world at the height of 20th-century design. Some places he has built are art museums, libraries, college buildings, office buildings, and homes. Many are in the Brutalist style, like the building that used to be IBM Research and Development and where the first desktop computer was made.
Buenos acabados, robusto y muy confortable
Back in the sixties I was a trainee surveyor and was sent to a large furniture store to measure up for an extension. Among the stock was a Charles Eames chair which was labeled “The most comfortable chair in the world” I tried it out and agreed with them. Sadly the chair cost about six months wages at the time. Sixty years later I saw these chairs advertised on the Luxe website and they were now within my budget. I ordered two and was quite excited when four heavy boxes arrived. It took my wife and I an hour per chair to assemble them. I immediately put the chair to the test, settled into its welcoming embrace and turned on the television. Within half an hour the chair had passed its examination with flying colours and I slept soundly for an hour.
Very impressed with the quality of the chair and experience with the sale! Very happy customer!
It's a handsome and comfortable chair. I bought it from a photograph online, and although I have seen the chair in person, it has been a while. So I forgot its size. It's pretty low and relatively small in today's oversized world. These are good things from my viewpoint. I have no regrets about buying it. It looks great, and I could fall asleep in it.
